Your first ICI, start to finish.
Everything you need to know to make your perfect pint.
What You'll Need
Equipment
- A pint container
- An ice cream maker
- A spoon
No machine? No problem. You can blend with ice and milk in a blender for a cold and fluffy drinkable treat.
Liquid
- 12oz of Whole Milk
Approved Subs:
Low-Fat/Skim, Oat milk, Macadamia milk, or Half & Half.
Avoid:
Water or extremely watery almond milk (will be too icy and harm your motor).
1 pouch + 16oz Liquid
The Steps
Mix It
Add 16oz milk to pint followed by ICI pouch. If using an XL, add a second ICI pouch or stop at 16oz. Mix for 30s or until fully combined.
Freeze it
Freeze for at least 8 hours, or even better, overnight. Make sure to freeze it on a level surface.
Blend it
Once frozen, remove from freezer and let it that for at least 10 mins. If you're in a rush, run it under hot water for 2 minutes.

What it should look like after mixing.

Warning: What under-mixed looks like.
Texture check: When properly mixed, it should look thick and slightly textured, almost like a thick milkshake. If it's watery, you may need to mix longer or check your ratios.
Didn't turn out how you expected?
It came out icy
This happens when there is too much water in the mixture.
- Ensure you didn't use water or watery almond milk.
- Double-check your liquid measurement.
It's too soft / it didn't set
Your freezer might not have been cold enough, or it needed more time.
- Ensure your freezer is set to 0°F (-18°C).
- Leave it in for an additional 4-6 hours.
It's crumbly or chalky
This usually means the mixture was over-mixed or didn't have enough liquid.
- Ensure you only blend for exactly 30 seconds.
- Verify you used the full 12oz of liquid.
There are clumps
The powder didn't dissolve completely into the liquid before freezing.
- Ensure your liquid was at room temperature or slightly warm, not ice cold.
- Blend more vigorously next time.
